Collection: CO2 Oil

CO2 oils are the fluid, free-flowing fraction obtained through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. Where conventional essential oils rely on steam distillation — exposing plant material to prolonged heat that can degrade delicate compounds — CO2 oils are extracted at near-ambient temperatures under controlled pressure. This preserves volatile aromatics, thermolabile actives, and subtle top notes that steam distillation loses.

The result is an oil that smells, tastes, and performs closer to the living plant than any steam-distilled equivalent. A CO2-extracted ginger oil, for instance, carries the fresh, sharp bite of raw ginger root — not the cooked, flat note typical of distilled versions. A CO2 black pepper oil retains the full piperine content alongside its aromatic profile, something no other extraction method achieves in a single step.

CO2 oils are fully miscible with carrier oils, butters, and lipid-based formulations. They contain zero solvent residues, require no further purification, and are used at lower dosages than conventional oils — a little goes further. Ideal for premium aromatherapy blends, functional skincare, flavour systems, and any formulation where authenticity of the botanical profile matters.

All GUTINS CO2 oils are sourced from India, Thailand, and Indonesia. Documentation (COA, MSDS, TDS) available on request.
