Dicalcium phosphate is a white calcium phosphate available as anhydrous or dihydrate grades. It provides calcium and phosphorus and is one of the most widely used direct-compression fillers for tablets.

Supplied as a mineral salt / chelate for supplement, premix and fortification use; elemental mineral content is declared on the CoA.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: Phosphorus/calcium source: 100–700 mg/day phosphorus
• Typical use level: 20–80% as tablet filler/excipient; 0.5–3% in fortified foods
• Formulation tip: Calculate dosage on elemental mineral content (see CoA), not on total salt weight.
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Solubility & Formulation

Practically insoluble in water and ethanol; soluble in dilute acids

Storage & Handling

Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place (below 25 °C) protected from moisture and light.. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Regulatory Note

Dicalcium phosphate is GRAS in the US (21 CFR 182.8217 / 182.1217) and EU additive E341(ii), and a permitted calcium/phosphorus source in EU supplements.
