Apple pectin is a galacturonic-acid polysaccharide extracted from apple pomace, supplied in high-methoxyl (sugar-acid set) and low-methoxyl (calcium set) grades. It is valued both as a soluble fibre and as a plant-based gelling agent for gummies. It is a favourite for vegan gummy manufacture.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 3-10 g/day as fibre
• Typical use level: 0.5-3% as gelling agent in gummies and jams; 20-100% in fibre supplements
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Soluble in water forming viscous solutions or gels; insoluble in ethanol and oils

Storage & Handling

Store sealed in a cool, dry place; hygroscopic - protect from humidity to prevent caking. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Pectin is an EU food additive (E440), GRAS in the US and holds authorised EU health claims for cholesterol and post-prandial glycaemia.
