Calcium Carbonate – Granulated / Direct-Compression Grade

Granules

Calcium carbonate is the most concentrated and economical calcium source, providing about 40% elemental calcium, sourced from purified limestone, precipitated or marine origins. It is the workhorse of calcium tablets and food fortification.

Supplied as a mineral salt / chelate for supplement, premix and fortification use; elemental mineral content is declared on the CoA.

GUTINS Calcium Carbonate — granulated / direct-compression grade is offered for manufacturers, formulators and brands. Specification: granulated / direct-compression grade; form / technology: Salt / chelate; diet suitability: Generally vegetarian.

  • Very cost-effective
  • Also acts as a pH regulator and white colour
  • Direct-compression grades for efficient tableting

Uses & Applications

Typical applications: Mineral supplementation, premix, tablets/capsules.

  • Bone health tablets and capsules
  • Calcium + vitamin D3 + K2 formulas
  • Multimineral premixes
  • Fortified plant milks and juices
  • Chewables and effervescent tablets
  • Women's and senior nutrition powders
  • Bakery and flour fortification

How to Use / Dosage

  • Typical daily intake: 500–1,200 mg/day elemental calcium (~40% Ca), best taken with meals
  • Typical use level: 20–90% in calcium tablets and antacid-type chewables; 0.1–2% in fortified foods
  • Formulation tip: Calculate dosage on elemental mineral content (see CoA), not on total salt weight.
  • Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
  • Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.
