Chromium(III) chloride is a simple inorganic trivalent chromium salt used in mineral premixes, infant and clinical nutrition. It is economical but less absorbed than organic chromium complexes.

Supplied as a mineral salt / chelate for supplement, premix and fortification use; elemental mineral content is declared on the CoA.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 50–200 µg/day chromium (hexahydrate ~19.5% Cr)
• Typical use level: Microgram-level: used as diluted triturations in premixes (<0.05% of finished product)
• Formulation tip: Calculate dosage on elemental mineral content (see CoA), not on total salt weight.
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Freely soluble in water; soluble in ethanol; insoluble in oils

Storage & Handling

Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place below 25 °C; hygroscopic – reseal promptly and protect from humidity.. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Chromium(III) chloride is permitted in EU supplements and foods (Directive 2002/46/EC, Reg. 1925/2006) and used in US nutrition products. Verify limits in destination market.
