Citrus Pectin Powder – Low Methoxyl

Citrus pectin is extracted from lemon, lime and orange peel and is the most widely used commercial pectin. High-methoxyl and low-methoxyl grades provide sugar-acid or calcium gelling for gummies and fruit products. It also serves as a soluble fibre in supplements.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 3-10 g/day as fibre
• Typical use level: 0.5-3% as gelling agent in gummies, jams and dairy; 20-100% in fibre supplements
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Soluble in water forming viscous solutions or gels; insoluble in ethanol and oils

Storage & Handling

Store sealed in a cool, dry place; hygroscopic - protect from humidity to prevent caking. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Regulatory Note

Pectin is an EU food additive (E440), GRAS in the US and holds authorised EU health claims. Modified citrus pectin is a different, lower-molecular-weight ingredient.
