Iron Fumarate Powder – Food / Nutraceutical Grade
Ferrous fumarate is a reddish-brown iron(II) salt of fumaric acid providing about 33% elemental iron. Its high iron density, good bioavailability and low cost make it a mainstay of iron tablets and food fortification programmes.
Supplied as a mineral salt / chelate for supplement, premix and fortification use; elemental mineral content is declared on the CoA.
GUTINS Iron Fumarate — food / nutraceutical grade is offered for manufacturers, formulators and brands. Specification: food / nutraceutical grade; form / technology: Salt / chelate; diet suitability: Generally vegetarian.

- Contributes to normal oxygen transport
- High elemental iron content (~33%) for compact tablets
- Cost-effective and well-established iron source
- Lower reactivity in food matrices than ferrous sulfate
Uses & Applications
Typical applications: Mineral supplementation, premix, tablets/capsules.
- Iron capsules and tablets
- Prenatal and women's multivitamins
- Multimineral premixes
- Fortified cereals and flours
- Children's chewables and gummies
- Fortified beverage and nutrition powders
How to Use / Dosage
- Typical daily intake: Typically 30–65 mg/day elemental iron (approx. 100–200 mg ferrous fumarate at ~33% Fe)
- Typical use level: 0.05–0.5% in fortified foods and premixes; 20–60% in iron tablet cores
- Formulation tip: Calculate dosage on elemental mineral content (see CoA), not on total salt weight.
- Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
- Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.
