CO2 Extracts

CO2 extracts are produced using supercritical carbon dioxide — pressurized to a state between liquid and gas — as the sole extraction solvent. Operating at low temperatures and high pressure, this process pulls active compounds directly from the plant material without the heat damage of steam distillation or the chemical residues of hexane and ethanol extraction. The result is a cleaner, more potent extract with a true-to-plant aroma, colour, and phytochemical profile.

Available in two grades: Select extracts capture the lighter, volatile fraction — closer to an essential oil in character. Total extracts pull the full spectrum, including heavier waxes, resins, and lipophilic compounds, delivering the complete plant signature in a single concentrated form.

CO2 extracts arrive as pastes, viscous oils, or free-flowing oils depending on the botanical. They are solvent-free, naturally preserved, and require significantly less material per formulation compared to conventional extracts — making them ideal for premium cosmetic, nutraceutical, food, and pharmaceutical applications.
