Tributyrin is a triglyceride composed of three butyric acid units, found naturally in butter. It acts as a stable butyrate prodrug that releases butyrate through lipase activity along the intestine.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 300–1,000 mg/day
• Typical use level: 10–70% in capsules (liquid 90% in softgels); 0.1–0.5% in feed
• Formulation tip: Avoid excessive compression force and high shear, which can rupture the microcapsules.
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Solubility & Formulation

Cold-water dispersible (matrix dependent); the core active is released on digestion. Parent active: liquid is poorly soluble in water; miscible with oils and ethanol; powder grades dispersible in water

Storage & Handling

Store sealed in a cool, dry place below 25 °C, protected from light, oxygen and humidity.. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).
