How to Use / Dosage

  • Typical daily intake: 250-500 mg/day of 50% EGCG extract; keep EGCG below 800 mg/day
  • Typical use level: 5-30% in capsules/tablets; 0.05-0.5% in beverages; 0.1-2% in cosmetics
  • Formulation tip: Standardized extracts are best dosed on the basis of the marker assay stated on the CoA.
  • Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
  • Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Storage & Handling

Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place below 25 °C, protected from light; hygroscopic – reseal promptly. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Regulatory Note

Green tea extract is widely used in US supplements and foods. EFSA advised that ≥800 mg EGCG/day raises liver concerns and the EU (Reg. 2022/2340) restricts EGCG to below 800 mg per daily portion with warnings; Verify permitted use and labelling in the destination market.
