Magnesium carbonate is an inorganic magnesium source available as light and heavy grades. It is used for compact magnesium dosing, effervescent systems, buffering and as an anti-caking agent.

Supplied as a mineral salt / chelate for supplement, premix and fortification use; elemental mineral content is declared on the CoA.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 200–400 mg/day elemental magnesium (compound provides approx. 24–28% Mg)
• Typical use level: 5–60% in tablets and capsules; 0.5–2% as anti-caking agent
• Formulation tip: Calculate dosage on elemental mineral content (see CoA), not on total salt weight.
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Solubility & Formulation

Practically insoluble in water; soluble in dilute acids with effervescence; insoluble in oils

Storage & Handling

Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place; protect from humidity and reseal after use.. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Regulatory Note

Permitted magnesium source in EU food supplements (Directive 2002/46/EC, Annex II) and GRAS/dietary ingredient in the US. Also a permitted food additive (E504). Verify national maximum levels in the destination market.

Diet suitability: Generally vegetarian. This product is supplied as a raw ingredient for further manufacturing and is not a finished consumer product. • EU supplemental UL is 250 mg/day elemental magnesium (US UL 350 mg/day)
• Excess may cause loose stools; caution with kidney impairment
• Separate from tetracycline/quinolone antibiotics, bisphosphonates and levothyroxine by 2+ hours
• Releases CO2 in stomach acid – may cause bloating
• Alkaline – may affect acid-sensitive actives
