How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 1-5 g/day spirulina powder; 100-500 mg/day phycocyanin extract
• Typical use level: 10-100% in capsule and tablet fills; 0.1-1% phycocyanin in beverages and confectionery (colour)
• Formulation tip: Standardized extracts are best dosed on the basis of the marker assay stated on the CoA.
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Solubility & Formulation

Phycocyanin is soluble in water (blue) and insoluble in oils and alcohol; protein powders are water-dispersible

Storage & Handling

Store tightly closed in a cool, dry, dark place; phycocyanin grades preferably refrigerated (2-8 °C).. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

Spirulina is a traditional food; spirulina extract (phycocyanin) is FDA-approved as a colour additive exempt from certification and used as a colouring food in the EU. Verify in the destination market.
