Fructooligosaccharides are short-chain fructans produced enzymatically from sucrose or by partial hydrolysis of chicory inulin. They are highly soluble, mildly sweet (about 30-50% of sucrose) and selectively fermented by beneficial bacteria. FOS is offered at 95% purity, as standard powder and as syrup solids.

How to Use / Dosage

• Typical daily intake: 3-10 g/day
• Typical use level: 1-10% in beverages, dairy and bars; 20-100% in fibre powders; common in infant and synbiotic formulas
• Weigh accurately and pre-blend small quantities with a carrier (e.g. maltodextrin, MCC or rice flour) for uniform distribution.
• Final dosage should be based on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis, the target serving size and the rules of your destination market.

Storage & Handling

Store sealed in a cool, dry place; hygroscopic - protect from humidity to prevent caking. Keep container tightly closed; use clean, dry utensils. Shelf life is typically 24 months in unopened original packaging (see CoA).

scFOS is GRAS in the US (GRAS notices) and permitted as a food ingredient in the EU; infant formula use is subject to specific rules. Prebiotic-type fibre: verify fibre definition (AOAC 2009.01/2011.25) and claim wording in destination market.
